Aldar HQ

The Aldar Headquarters Building is a 121m tall, 23 storey commercial building located at the heart of one of the Middle East's biggest developments, the Al Raha Beach development in Abu Dhabi.

This iconic fully glazed structure is completely circular in elevation and curved in all other directions. It features an external steel diagrid, recognised to be the first such structure in the UAE, eliminating the need for internal columns which would compromise the aesthetic appeal as well as the views from within.

Key to the successful design and construction of this project in just 33 months was a contractual joint venture arrangement between the project partners and the use of advanced 3D modelling to create a Building Information Model which facilitated collaboration between Arup, the architect and the facade and steel contractors.
