Meet The Team

Infrastructure Practice

Since coming to Australia to work on the Sydney Opera House, Arup has built a strong reputation in innovative engineering consultancy in the region. I was looking for a company where I could develop solid technical expertise and Arup was a huge yes for me from the start.

My first experience with Arup was through a Vacation Placement and gave me more insight into the corporate culture and the type of work they do. From day one, I was already involved in an offshore project in the North-West shelf of Western Australia and the team was readily willing to share their experience and knowledge with me.

I’m currently working in the Geotechnics team on various energy and resource projects. My role has been diverse – from data inspection and information management for challenging onshore and offshore ground investigations, to analysis and interpretation of in situ and laboratory tests of quite often very soft soils. It can be technically demanding, but I always find open access to the enormous support, not only from the local team, but also through the Skills Network Forum running worldwide.

What’s more, the social and community activities do add extra value into my professional life in Arup. The Graduate Induction Weekend was, on top of all, a not-to-be-missed opportunity to network with other grads in the region and to have some fun time with them. I also found it very rewarding to get involved in the Dreamfit Foundation and help overcoming the challenges and frustrations of people with disabilities.
